Marching Redhawks Showcase and Potluck/Picnic Dinner
Join your favorite Marching Redhawk for this very special evening of music, food and fun! This event
takes place the weekend following band camp, prior to the first day of school, and introduces the
marching band's competitive field show for the upcoming season.
The evening begins with a picnic dinner (bring a picnic for your family and a dessert to share --
water and lemonade provided by the Band Boosters), followed by a showcase
performance by the Marching Redhawks in uniform under the lights in Memorial Stadium!
All NCHS band families who may not be involved with the Marching Redhawks are also invited to both
the picnic dinner and the showcase performance!
South Side Band Festival
Eighth grade students from Kennedy, Lincoln and Madison Junior High, as well as Naperville Central's
Wind Ensemble and Jazz Studio Orchestra, perform each year at the South Side Band Festival held in
Naperville Central's Auditorium. This event is held in February of each year.
This is a great introduction to Naperville Central for our incoming freshmen band students! A special Q&A session for parents is held before the concert begins, so make sure you arrive early.
Naperville Central Marching Classic
The Naperville Central Marching Classic is held at Benedictine University in Lisle in the fall of each year. Bands from the Chicagoland area (and even as far away as Wisconsin) perform their field shows in competition. This event has only been in existence since 2007, but has already become a very popular stop in the fall marching band competition schedule!
The Marching Redhawks perform their show in exhibition as the final band to perform for the day. Visit the Marching Classic page for more information!
Naperville Central Solo & Ensemble Extravaganza
Note: Due to the renovation of NCHS, this event will be held at another school until completion of construction. Stay tuned for its return!
Naperville Central is quickly gaining the reputation for having the best Solo & Ensemble
festival around! An elite group of clinicians and judges participate in this event, and give
masterclasses, in the early spring of each year.
Participation for Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony students is mandatory; however, all students are
invited to participate. Students from area high schools also participate in this event each year.
Those chosen as "best in room" are invited to perform in an Honors Recital at a date and
venue to be announced.
Jazz Cafe
Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to swing to the hottest sounds in Naperville! Held in the
spring of each year, Jazz Cafe showcases all NCHS jazz bands and combos and features an amazing
guest performer.
Starting out in the cafeteria at NCHS, this event has grown so much that it was moved to a local
banquet venue where you can now enjoy dinner with your music! Stay tuned to

Drumshow
Drumshow is held in the spring of each year in the NCHS Auditorium. This event showcases our outstanding percussion students and always
features a prominent guest performer. Drumshow gives students the opportunity to perform many
different styles of percussion ensembles not normally contained in standard high school literature.
